Chapter 7 is here ,in case you missed it.π
Here's where we left off in chapter 7:
Funny enough, Eloise had exactly the same thoughts running through her mind. I mean , she just couldn't believe how stunning Abigail looked. It was nothing like she'd also anticipated. Eloise had seen pictures of Abigail but seeing her in person, she realized the lady before her was a sight to behold. She now knew why Phyll had decided to settle with Abigail.
Abigail had had her insecurities about Eloise and seeing her now, they just heightened. Abigail was perfectly aware of the fact that Phyll never got over Eloise. I mean he never admitted it but she could tell from the way he spoke about her that he still deeply cared for Lois.
She knew that somewhere in the deepest crevices of his heart, Eloise still held a special place no other girl would take.
Abigail began to wonder if she was making a right choice. I mean looking at the damsel before her, no man would leave Eloise for all the money in the world and she, Abigail knew she didn't stand a chance when it came to Eloise.
Eloise could sense that Abigail was feeling very uncomfortable with her and she was very determined to eradicate that feeling.
She wanted Abigail to feel as comfortable around her as possible. I mean this was her best friend's fiancΓ©e. Forget about her feelings for Phyll.
They had been standing in the doorway for close to a minute without any of them uttering a word and it was beginning to feel awkward. It was almost as if they were assesing each other. Elloise, however took the initiative and began making small talk with Abigail.
Extrovert as she was, she got Abigail relaxed in a few minutes. She and Abigail immediately hit it off and began chatting as if they were bosom friends as they stepped into the lush apartment.
Phyll was in the bedroom and he was at loss as to how to even behave around the ladies.
These were two ladies he loved and as luck would have it,they were all in the same house now about to have dinner.
He just hope his discomfort didn't show. He sighed. God knew he loved Eloise. Well he loved Abigail too....
'Aaaaarrgghhhhhh....,' Phyll let out a controlled but exasperated scream.
'How did I get Into this mess?' He asked himself.
The laughter of the ladies floated on the wings of the cold night breeze to his ears and he shivered in obvious dread.
He didn't know what the night held and it obviously looked like things weren't going to turn out so well.
He sighed and buttoned up his shirt. He took one last look in the mirror and started for the hall where the ladies where.
Phyll hoped against all hope that tonight would be better than expected.
He stepped into the hall and put on the most charming smile he could muster.
'Hey honey,' Abigail said as she happily stood to hug Phyll. 'We've been waiting for you. But you never told me Eloise was such an interesting person.'
Eloise stood and strolled over to where the couple stood. 'If it isn't the man himself. God look at you, all grown and about to tie the knot.'
She stiffled a laughter and playfully punched him squarely in the chest.
'Good for you.' Eloise winked at Abigail and said in a loud whisper. 'She is a gem too. I can see why you decided on her.'
Phyll visibly relaxed. He had been dreading keeping the conversation going but Eloise had just blown the wind out of his sails. Another reason he loved her so much.
She just had a way of making everyone feel at ease.
'Well, let's not waste much time, shall we? Let the night begin.' Abigail said as she directed them to the dining table.
Phyll just silently prayed all went well as it had began. His premonitions were never wrong and tonight he especially didn't like the ominous feeling that had suddenly fallen over him.
He smiled again and stole a quick glance at Eloise and as always he was wowed. She was beautiful. That didn't even come close to describing how she looked.
Phyll shifted his attention to his wife to be and almost immediately his countenance fell.
God what was happening to him? He mused.
As he took the seat at the head of the table, he stared at the the two ladies who each held a part of his heart captive.
Both of them were engaged in what looked like a very interesting conversation and it was so obvious they were fast becoming good friends.
This night promised to turn out to be one very interesting one.
He had no doubt about it.
Contrary to what Phyll had anticipated, the night had gone on better than he expected.
After dinner they had proceeded to watch a movie which led to a discussion on the wedding and in the end, it was no surprise the night turned into one of reminiscing and mostly of planning the wedding.
The evening got so interesting that they lost track of time and so when Eloise finally stole a glance at her watch, she politely asked to take her leave.
Abigail acted as the perfect hostess and thanked Eloise profusely for her visit.
As the couple escorted the Eloise out of the house she proceeded to ask Eloise a question none them could have anticipated...

Chapter 7 is here ,in case you missed it.π
Here's where we left off in chapter 7:
"All feelings she had had to be buried. What would people think if they discovered she had them? She had thought. And so 7 o'clock pm found Eloise at the door of Phyll and his fiancee's house. She had rehearsed every word she was going to utter and every facial expression she was going to make lest an uncough and unwanted emotion of the jealous kind were to slip by her.
The door bell was rang and the hostess came to answer. Abigail's appearance and stature puzzled Eloise . But the night was young and there was still more surprises to be unfolded..."
