Slaying In the Oguaa War: My Secret To A 3.9 GPA

Hi there,  my name is Owusu Frimpong Michael but most of my college buddies call me "Mr Bean" . You and I know very well that the beast called "oguaa" is nearly upon us and with this post I would like to share with y'all some strategies I have used that have worked. It doesn't matter whether you are a freshmen or perhaps a step away from graduation, these strategies I assure you when applied correctly will help you kick ass so much in this semester's and other semester's exams ,the question papers will beg for mercy!

Step 1: Planning Your Battle Strategy
You have heard it being said through the ages that if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. This also applies here and is as a matter of fact quite pertinent if you hope to shake a lot of A's from the "oguaa " tree. It doesn't really matter if you've studied your course content from the very beginning of the semester or you have just waited for the two weeks prior to the exams(it's a two weeks course after allπŸ˜‡πŸ˜‚), if you don't have a battle strategy, you might not perform as greatly In the exams as you might like. The question then becomes, "how do I prepare this strategy? "

Well you prepare a strategy that works by looking at the exams time table and studying it very carefully and meticulously to deduce the study time you will allocate to every subject. After this, you also have to know exactly what the examiners require for you to present as answers. Present only those and nothing else. You can know what examiners require by studying some past questions or asking your tutor exactly about them.  Note this very critically too that you must learn outside the box. What I mean is that you have to go beyond the course content and delve deeper and that way you will not spook when you encounter a question on a particular topic that has never been taught in the classroom.

Also analyze the subjects that would require you to study in a group with others and the ones you have to hack on your own. Most often,  you study the subjects you are weak in with others to gain their diverse perspectives on it whereas you hack the ones you are good at on your own because that way you can move faster and easily but who are we kidding,  studying in groups always rocks!

Step 2: The Actual Studying

Imagine this if you will, that it's two weeks to the exams and you know you have no idea what is in any handout because you have never opened it before and the tutors have not helped that much because they've been speaking Chinese to you all the times they came to teach. The Oguaa bus came today to the college and suddenly anxiety has flooded your soul. You then make a serious resolve to study hard throughout the night and yet nothing enters your brain to be stored. So you study hard and study hard but it doesn't work?  worry not, you don't have to study hard anymore... Study Smart!
Students who study smart find themselves spending less time at studying and still getting better grades.

Find a good place to study: make sure the area is free of distractions.(Tip:don't study at the dining hall, it's where 78% of the students go to study... Go be with the 22% that are distributed in the classrooms and library and auditorium... Those places are actually quieter)
Know your learning style: we all learn differently! Some learn best by seeing the material (visual learner), some learn best from hearing the material (auditory learner), and some learn best by doing (kinesthetic learner). As a rule, the more senses you involve and the wider variety of methods you use while studying, the more you remember.

Organize your study time: before you begin, make a plan. Decide exactly what you want to get done. Always allow more time than you think you will need and prioritize your work to make sure that you have enough time for the things that are most important. Do difficult tasks first while you are most alert and fresh and remember to take regular short study breaks!...

Step 3: Writing The Exams

Getting an A in your exams has very little to do with what you know than how you present what you know. You may have taken a lot of exams in your educational career and you've performed fairly well I believe but to be truly fantastic, you must know how to write the stuff you know and those you know not. Improve your test performance by using these test-taking tips.

Get off to a good start: be prepared and have everything you will need. As soon as you get the test, write anything that you will need to remember (facts, dates, equations, memory clues, etc) at the back of your answer booklet.
Mark the questions you want to return to.
Increase your odds on multiple choice by trying to come up with the answer in your head before you look at the options. Always read all the choices and if you are unsure, cross out the choices that you know are incorrect and then make an educated guess with the remaining options.
Know how to approach an essay question: reach each question and start with the easiest which will increase your confidence. Before you start writing, brainstorm by jotting down the key words and ideas along with other key points you want to include.

Hints for True/False: read these questions very carefully as one word will often determine whether the statement is true or false. Statements with words like always, all, never, every and none are often false where statements with words like usually, most, often, sometimes, many tend to be true.

To conclude, please understand that if you don't put God first before applying any of the strategies I have presented, you will fail miserably on your own strength... Very important!....I am all I am by His abundant and sufficient Grace. Now with that said, go out people and assemble as many A's as you want!... Good Luck.
